Share mosque photographs and useful context through Google Drive. Current views matter — and so do older photographs showing what changed, what survived and what a community remembers.

How to prepare your folder

Preserve the present. Don’t lose the past.

Old photographs are especially valuable.

If you have pre-renovation, post-renovation, before-and-after or historical photographs of the same mosque, please include them. Add an approximate year whenever you can. OurMosques will preserve the time context instead of presenting every photograph as if it were current.

Create one Drive folder per mosqueDo not mix several mosques or unrelated personal files in the same folder.

Label the folder properlyUse country, city, mosque name, contributor name and the submission date.

Separate current and historical photosIf you have both, keep pre-renovation, renovated and before/after photographs clearly labelled so the chronology is not lost.

Tell us what we are looking atAdd a short note about the photograph, approximate date, unusual architecture, inscriptions, old structures, community memories or details a visitor may otherwise miss.

Contributor credit

Accepted submissions will be credited using the public credit name you provide. If several people photographed a collection, list everyone who should be credited.

What we accept

Exterior and interior architecture, prayer spaces, facilities, accessibility features, programmes, classes, community activity, renovation works, historical views and development updates — provided they genuinely relate to the mosque.

What we may reject or delete

Unrelated personal files, inappropriate content, private documents or chats, misleading information, unlawful material, low-value duplicates, third-party material you are not authorised to submit, or anything unsuitable for the platform.

What should people look out for?

I understand that OurMosques may review, select, crop, resize, compress, caption, place photographs into historical/current context, translate accompanying information, decline, remove or archive submitted material in accordance with the Contributor Terms.
